Vampirella is a comic book character who first appeared in Vampirella #1 (September 1969), published by Warren Publishing.
She originates from the planet Drakulon, a world where blood flows freely and is the source of life. Drakulon orbits twin suns that dried up the blood rivers long ago, leading to the extinction of the species. Vampirella is a survivor. When the spaceship crash lands on Drakulon carrying her only the blood she needs to survive is the liquid found inside the crew.
She travels to Earth where she uses her vampire abilities to fight evil, often targeting other vampires and supernatural threats. Vampirella differs from traditional vampires; she is not harmed by sunlight, possesses shape-shifting abilities, and is not undead. She is driven by a strong moral code, using her powers for good.
